Thank you, liquify tool

Oh c’mon, 600 followers, I spent like, a good five minutes on this!

The demon has been slayed

In light of this thing I made, I felt this was an appropriate thing to reblog. Good job, thetrainticket, five minutes well spent.

A thing I made for the Something Awful thread ‘Cryptofauna: Create your own bestiary!’ which is pretty much what it sounds like: people draw / photoshop a new kind of animal and write a blurb about it. I attached what I made and here is the description I wrote to go with it:
The carnivorous dendrophage (known colloquially as a ‘taking tree’) can be found in the wooded landscapes of the eastern United States. This unusual animal has evolved to disguise itself as a fallen tree, often with the root system exposed. A dendrophage remains motionless as a victim approaches, and when the moment is right, the dendrophage reaches its ‘roots’ (tentacles) toward the prey animal instantly, snaring it and suffocating it. There it will gain nourishment from the corpse of the animal; a single large prey item can sustain it for many years. It is suspected that numerous hikers and back packers who go missing along the Appalachian trail fall victim to ‘taking trees’ each year. Please use caution while visiting rural areas of the Eastern US.
*note: I drew the eye of the dendrophage disguised as a knot in the bark of the ‘tree’ portion.

Reposting for the ‘Create our own horror’ thing, I thought it was fitting.

Check it out if you like the EverymanHYBRID series :>
